Floor screed is
supplied semi-dry by tipper to your site.
MIXES
Polypropylene Fibres -
These can be added to mixes to help overcome
the traditional difficulties associated with ensuring
the reinforcing mesh is placed at the correct depth.
Fibres can substitute the use of crack control mesh and
are mixed into the load at the plant, ensuring an even
distribution of fibres.
ADVANTAGES
A quality controlled product over traditional screeds,
produced from our computer batched mortar plant, giving
better durability.
COLLECTIONS
We welcome collections of concrete or screed from our
plant in Perry Barr, Birmingham.
ORDERING
Please allow 24 hours notice for deliveries, although it
may be possible to supply at shorter periods of notice.
Delivery is by tipper at a semi-dry consistency onto a
clean hard-standing or plastic sheet.
RETARDATION
Retander may be
added to slow down the setting process if required.
DURABILITY
All screeds are designed to be laid as the base material
on which the finished covering is to be applied (ie
tiles or carpet).
PREPARATION
Any surface to which Concrete Developments’ screed is to
be applied must be clean, free from dust and
structurally sound, in order that the screed can bond
effectively.
SITE PRACTICE
When laying screed, proper compaction using a heavy tamp
or weighted roller in layers is important. This ensures
full compaction and prevents problems. The surface
should be finished with a steel trowel or float,
avoiding excessive trowelling which can lead to dusting
and even crazing on the surface.
In accordance with good site practice, the finished
screed should be protected to aid curing, typically
using a plastic sheet. Always protect screed from
extremes of weather conditions, both before and after
placing.
Wherever possible, screeds should be left for at least 7
days after laying, but light foot traffic may be
possible after 2 days. |
